Future Focused

The possibilities are endless thanks to a new four-year strategic plan and refined pillars of focus. 2023 was the beginning of even bigger things at Goodwill.

Celebrating 50 Years of Service

In 2022, we launched an 8,000 square-foot Business Services Center which provides production support such as kitting, packaging, assembly and inspection to employers. Throughout 2023 we celebrated a remarkable 50th anniversary of service to the Upstate and Midlands of South Carolina. In February, we captured our mission in a colorful mural unveiled at the Haywood Road Clearance Center. We honored extraordinary staff, volunteers and community members at our 50th Anniversary Gala in May.

Enhancing the Goodwill Experience

This year brought the grand opening of the second Auten’s Loft, a boutique shopping experience that launched in 2022, to Lexington. We also celebrated a brand-new Chesnee location bringing retail, donations and employment assistance to the Spartanburg area. In the background, our Customer Ambassador Program continues to reveal service improvement opportunities.

Maximizing Impact

New outreach opportunities allow us to better meet clients where they are. In 2023, the 30 ft Mission Mobile vehicle made 47 site visits across our service area and assisted 317 individuals, achieving 77 placements with an average wage of $16.39. With the Chesnee grand opening, we now have 23 Job Connection centers and two community service hubs  — Fluor’s Golf for Greenville Youth & Family Services Center and Phillis Wheatley Community Center.

Looking Ahead

We strive to deliver measurable value to customers, associates and the communities we serve through three operational pillars. By focusing on objectives that benefit people, sustainability and performance we’re reaching for new levels of excellence from the retail counter to career counseling services and every offering in-between.
