Goodwill isn’t just a brand name. It’s a continuum of action in which donors achieve material sustainability in ways that provide professional mobility for others. A mission that mobilizes access, information and resources to transform the well-being of people, families, careers and communities.
As we close out our 50th anniversary of service to South Carolina’s Upstate and Midlands, it punctuates another year of tremendous impact from Goodwill. More than 21,000 employment services accessed at Job Connections. A nearly perfect — 99 percent — employment placement rate for training program participants. Diversion of 42M+ pounds of goods that didn’t go to landfills.
Yet there’s another side to those incredible numbers. They represent individual achievements for South Carolinians in the form of new skills and career options. Within Goodwill, they reflect the success of new extensions such as the traveling Mission Mobile service, new Auten’s Loft boutique shopping experiences and two community service hubs.
We’re reminded daily that every action at Goodwill is driven by a desire to help others. A simple equation that translates into something much larger and more profound. Goodwill to all.
